Position Description

The Business Banking Specialist is accountable for business deposits products and services goals of the Banking Center through a combination of outside business development efforts and the expansion of the existing business deposit client base. The incumbent focuses on the acquisition of new deposit relationships, business services (such as RID, Merchant Services, Business Online Banking) and all Business & Treasury Services as well as partnering with the Lenders to expand the deposit relationship of new loan relationships.

Sales Scorecard:

Achieve sales scorecard expectations.
Achieve sales results with an appropriate distribution of performance across products that align with intended job functions and market opportunity.
Achieve sales results that align with the needs of the community and ultimately support the organizational commitment to diverse lending.

Sales & Service; Sourcing New Business:

Develop and execute a plan to acquire new customers through prospecting efforts.
Develop and execute a customer outreach plan for retaining relationships and sourcing new business through the existing portfolio.
Use a needs based, customer centric selling approach to create value for both the customer and the bank.
Engage partners as appropriate in pre-call planning and joint calling.
Develop and execute a plan for sourcing and engaging centers of influence that refer customers which fit your target customer profile.
Represent the Bank in the community by attending and participating in civic and community events for the purpose of generating additional business and identifying potential CRA opportunities for the Bank.

Risk Mitigation:

Adhere to all regulations and Bank policies, procedures and delegated authorities.
Manage credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal risks related to personal interactions, customer transactions and financial exposures.
Act as a first line of defense in the identification of risk.
Complete required training and any Continuing Education by established deadlines.

Position Requirements

Bachelor degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in a sales, financial services, or lending role.
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years experience in a sales, financial services, or lending role.

Must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by SAFE Act.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided.

Experience in selling business and treasury products and services.
Ability to reach predetermined deposit products and service goals as exhibited through previous experience.
Knowledge of business deposit account types.
Understanding of generic business and treasury products and services.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Possess strong sales skills (i.e., establish commonalities, rapport, trust) and sales techniques (i.e., presentation, diffuse objections and ability to close) and deliver with a high degree of professionalism.
Extensive in-market experience with clients and referral sources/contacts.
