We have an exciting nursing opportunity for a full-time Nurse Manager to join our Children?s Care Management group.

With the dual support and leadership from the Children?s Hospital and from the system wide Care Management team, you will manage the day-to-day operations and provide clinical and administrative leadership to the 29 team members, and represent Legacy in the community to work effectively with community-based programs, services and providers.


Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, named by Forbes, a national business magazine, to its 2016 list of best midsize employers in the US, Legacy Health, with more than 13,000 employees, is a regional integrated health system that consists of seven hospitals, including a level I trauma center, dozens of primary care and specialty clinics, a regional medical laboratory service and a brand new unique center for behavioral health.
Randall Children?s opened in February 2012 and receives over 150,000 patient visits annually, with 26,000 children receiving specialized emergency care in a kids-only emergency department. 



Manages the day-to-day Care Management operations within a designated site or system setting (either inpatient or outpatient). Provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Care Management team which is charged with the provision of comprehensive, patient-centered, quality health care for patient populations with acute and chronic health conditions across the continuum. Manages and directs Care Management staff, establishing appropriate staffing levels and work assignments, assuring financial/budgetary stewardship and efficient use of resources, and providing appropriate staff development, coaching, and mentoring. Integrates with other site leadership to foster seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes across the continuum. Represents Legacy in the community and works effectively with community-based programs, services and providers. 



Job Qualifications: 

Education: Master?s degree or higher is required; one academic degree (i.e., bachelor?s or master?s) must be in nursing.

Exceptions to the master?s requirement may be made for candidates who demonstrate that they are enrolled in an accredited master?s level program. Candidates must either be scheduled to commence this program within 6 months of hire or have already begun and be making meaningful progress toward completion of the master?s degree. Demonstrated evidence of course completion will be required at the end of each term, and will be tracked by the individual?s manager. Exceptions to the BSN requirement may be made for candidates with an associate?s degree attending a direct entry master?s programs in nursing, and are within one year of graduation; it is understood that they are at the BSN level once they are within a year of graduation, thereby meeting the BSN requirement. For current incumbents in this job as of May 1, 2014, bachelor?s degree in nursing or social work or related field required or equivalent experience.  

Experience: Minimum of four years of clinical experience required. One of the 4 years of clinical experience must be related to Case Management including: previous payor experience, utilization management, ambulatory care coordination, and/or community/transitions planning experience. Progressive leadership experience required with demonstrated results. Basic knowledge of clinical operations, Lean principles/work flow planning, staffing and scheduling, budget and resource management, data analysis and continuous quality improvement.


Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state RN licensure required for employees hired into this job on/after May 1, 2014. Certification in Case management preferred at hire, and required within 3 years of hire/transfer into this job if hired on/after May 1, 2014. Case management certification for current incumbents required by May 1, 2017.

  • Able to link care management initiatives to organizational strategic goals and objectives.

  • Health literate oral and written communication skills as well as public speaking proficiency.

  • Strong and effective conflict resolution skills.

  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
