Service Writer

Job Summary

Serves as a liaison between customers and auto repair shop, providing information regarding a customer’s necessary vehicle repairs to staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Uses computer software programs to keep track of customers’ profiles and dates of vehicle service
  • Possesses excellent customer service to customers both in-person and over the phone
  • Provide updates to staff regarding a customer’s vehicle repair needs
  • Schedules repair services with the appropriate mechanic
  • Provides cost estimates to customers, as well as updates on the timeframe of their vehicle repair
  • Update the company’s network with details of the vehicle service performed 
  • Process orders and cash transactions
  • Handles customer complaints and questions, as needed
