DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate or correct train andrailcar reporting to ensure regulatory compliance, safety, reduced dwell, protect crew starts, and ensure prompt train movement.
  • Interface with CBP (Customs and Border Protection), customs brokers, and internal customers to provide clearance of freight to maintain fluidity across international gateways.
  • Act as primary contact point for external customers, work with Marketing, Sales, Service Design, Transportation, and other BNSF organizations to support customer tools and processes as well as to assess, research, and resolve issues.
  • Effectively respond to questions from employees and/or customers
  • Identify and implement solutions
  • Interpret information and apply rules and agreements.
  • Initiate and process correspondance via various communication channels, and maintain confidential information

TYPING REQUIREMENT: This position requires successful candidates to take and pass a typing test, administered through BNSF. The minimum net typing rate required for this position is 25wpm.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • I am at least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed in the job description.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Available to work in the geographic area indicated
  • Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English
  • Available to work a 40-hour work week subject to overtime that includes weeknights, weekends and holidays
  • Able to type, without errors, at the required speed as indicated by the job posting
  • Able to handle multiple projects and duties simultaneously, accurately input data into computer systems and sit for long periods of time
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook,Word and PowerPoint) and have used them in school and/or at work
  • Minimum of 1 year of verifiable training and/or work experience resolving internal and/or external customer issues via telephone and/or email correspondence

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish
  • 1 year verifiable work experience in Supply Chain or Logistics
  • 1 year verifiable work experience in Customer Service, Sales or related field
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management software, such as Salesforce
  • Experience working 2nd or 3rd shift on a job in the past 5 years.

Pay rates are listed at entry rate. Entry rate is 85% of full pay rate, to increase 5% per year until at 100%.

TRAINING:Company paid on the job training is provided.

RELOCATION:Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

WORK CONDITIONS:Indoor, office environment.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 8 months.

TRAVEL:Minimal.

SHIFTS/HOURS: This position is full-time (40 hours/week), subject to seniority and governed by a union agreement. Our Customer Support Team is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation. Shifts may be unconventional work schedules with consecutive rest days. Assigned shift may be one of three 8-hour shifts. For example, this position could work a Tuesday-Saturday shift, a Thursday-Monday shift, a Monday-Friday shift or any other 5-day combination. This position may workdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

UNION:Transportation Communications Union.

DUES:Per the collective bargaining agreement, union membership and monthly dues are required.
