Description Leidos Hypersonics Division is seeking a qualified Deputy Chief Engineer - Mechanical to support the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Leidos is involved in multiple contracts to provide hardware and systems for high energy weapons, launchers, hypersonics, and target surrogates for several DoD customers. Primary Responsibilities The focus of the MACH-TB Program is to develop rapid-cadence, affordable flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance the Technology Readiness Level of our nation's hypersonic technologies. To that end, the Deputy Chief Engineer - Mechanical will support the Chief Engineer for several aspects of the engineering and flawless program execution to include:
Basic Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have12 yearsof relevant experience.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Preferred Qualifications Experience and demonstrated skill in any of the following areas is also a plus:
The ideal candidate would have experience in weapons and/or missile system electronics/avionics/environmental testing.
