Salary Minimum: $60,000

University of Minnesota seeks East Asian Studies Librarian in Minneapolis, MN, responsible for serving as liaison librarian to collaborate with scholars in humanities and across the university utilizing Chinese, Korean, and Japanese language material, and the East Asian Library.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties will be to:
(1) Develop strong relationships with faculty and staff affiliated with the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Department and the Institute of Linguistics and identify
opportunities for deeper partnerships.
(2) Integrate information literacy and other research skills in departmental curriculum.
(3) Connect scholars at all levels with expertise they need to be more effective researchers through strong outreach, research consultations, and excellence in teaching.
(3) Build and manage collections and services that advance work of disciplines supported by the East Asian Librarian with attention to cross-disciplinary and collaborative collection development opportunities.
(4) Support full lifecycle of student and faculty research by connecting scholars with information on researcher identity and impact management; research dissemination options; research material management; open access; and copyright.
(5) Shape East Asian Library into hub of activity and resources for researchers in the Twin Cities.
(6) Contribute to goals and strategic initiatives of the Libraries through leadership or active
participation in committees.
(7) Add to professional scholarship through research.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* American Library Association accredited master's degree in library/information science or related.
* Demonstrate ability to teach.
* Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students in research-intensive environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of East Asian Studies research practices and research.
* Management of East Asian language materials in multiple formats; and evidence of excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
