About the Role:

As a senior program manager in the Planning and Design practice area, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today's ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients.

Serving as a senior program manager, your role as a NYSTEC consultant will include the management and facilitation of work groups with diverse membership and a focus on reducing health disparities in quality, access, and treatment outcomes for members of marginalized and underserved populations.

You should have a diversity of strengths relating to public health and health equity and have a passion for multicultural and diverse solutions to complex health initiatives. With cultural humility, you will need to facilitate team sessions to collaboratively develop solutions to address client needs and priorities (e.g., conduct landscape and current-state analyses, identify themes among their findings, and propose recommendations to advance health equity and public health efforts in New York State). You will need to anticipate and communicate issues/risks, estimate their task duration and present their findings. You will also need to exhibit exceptional writing, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct current-state analyses, to understand and document the client's current policies, processes, and unmet needs.
  • Develop for clients recommendations that are informed by the findings from the current-state analyses and from work group feedback.
  • Document and support preparations for work groups to collect client/stakeholder input and feedback.
  • Develop and manage project and communication plans.
  • Facilitate team brainstorming and working sessions to inform project strategy and to develop solutions to address client needs.
  • Understand what needs to be done and work as a team player to accomplish that.
  • Write clear, concise, and effective reports to help clients understand best practices and recommendations.


About you:
Required Qualifications

  • A passion for, and experience working with, multicultural and diverse advisory committees or advocacy groups.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and to understand their needs through excellent listening and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills to meet project goals.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to develop recommendations and solutions to complex initiatives.
  • Ability to be proactive when providing updates to the client and stakeholders and to think from their perspective to anticipate questions, considerations, and needs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Experience/expertise in public health with a focus on underserved communities.
  • Experience working with public health, social services, or healthcare-related projects.
  • Project management professional (PMP) or related certification.


Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and five years of related experience in public health and/or diversity studies.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.


The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
