For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 sign on for Registered Nurses with 0-3 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 3 years of experience!



  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position.

    Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Your Role:

This position is a registered nurse (RN) who exercises independent judgment in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for outpatients with diabetes. This RN assures continued ADA certification of the Diabetes Self-Management Training (DMST) education program by continuously meeting ADA requirements. This position collaborates with the Medical Staff, Dietitians, Nursing Staff, Administration, support and ancillary services personnel to assure safe, quality outpatient care. Other duties may be as requested or delegated by Practice Manager.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):





    1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School or Nursing. Completion of the New Instructor Training Program provided by the State of Maine Diabetes Control Project.
    2. License/Certifications: Currently licensed in the State of Maine as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
    3. Experience: At least 2 years' clinical experience including previous experience in patient teaching and/or the delivery of other types of educational programs.
    4. Affiliation with American Diabetes Association recommended.
    5. Affiliation with American Association of Diabetes Educators recommended.
    6. Affiliation with Maine Association of Diabetes Educators recommended.
    7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    8. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    9. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, physicians, customers and/or boards of directors.
