SUMMARY

The Software QA Manager drives vision and consistency across the QA Engineering organization along with the other QA Management team as well as across the Programs that they are accountable for. This individual will be responsible for growing, evolving, and executing the Quality Assurance process in our Global Technology Solutions sector. The QA Manager will be up to date with current test practices and tools and must always be looking to help Covetrus Software Engineering teams and the multiple QAs they manage to improve quality as well as speed to market.The person in this job is responsible for the contribution of their teams in the development, enhancement and maintenance of new and existing software solutions utilizing industry best practices in accordance with the organizations development lifecycle (SLDC) methodology. The person will have a passion for coaching, empowering, and building relationships with their team(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Act as the main point of contact for the teams under their leadership

  • Provide direction, answer questions and remove any blockers that could prevent teams from achieving their goals

  • Provide updates/documentation to upper management as needed

  • Interact with and collaborate across diverse teams consisting of technical and non-technical personnel including the Engineering Manager, Devops, Product and the Architecture teams.Collaborate with project leaders to create roadmaps and QA milestones

  • Own the QA process and best practices as well as identify opportunities to improve their efficiency across the project(s) , both manual and automation

  • Manage day to day operations and administrative tasks for full time employees and contractors

  • Manage all manual and automated testing stages with the Test Leads, including test planning, executing tests, regression testing, performance testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing

  • Create a welcoming and positive work environment for the QA organization

  • Research and implement new tools and testing enablers which will help in doing testing more efficiently and effectively

  • Define and create testing metrics that can be used within and across teams for the testing programs

  • Assess and clearly communicate QA vision with all stakeholders at various levels

  • Use source control and continuous integration principles and contribute to the adherence to agile principles

  • Help and support the scrum master to bring the team to agile maturity

  • Establish relationships with direct reports and foster career growth and motivation

  • Manage their team members professional development and career advancement

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the work and vision across Covetrus employees and third-party partners

  • Direct HR accountabilities

  • Hiring responsibilities

  • Regular one on one meetings with direct reports

  • Participate in QA organization town halls

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of QA leadership or management, as well as hands-on QA experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • None Required

COMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

  • Extensive experience managing multiple QAs

  • Experience supporting QA efforts with multiple products on multiple teams simultaneously

  • Experience in creating manual testing strategies

  • Experience developing automation frameworks across a range of programming languages

  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and other design patterns

  • Knowledge of cloud technology and distributed computing

  • Experience with version control systems like Git

  • Familiarity with open-source technologies

  • Experience with all stages of the testing life cycle at both the high level and the ground level

  • Highly motivated and passionate about QA and making an impact

  • Is a compassionate and empowering leader

  • Ability to influence people for positive change

  • Superb communication, collaboration, and delegation skills

  • Proven ability to execute problem-solving solutions in a high stress environment

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows.

$86,300.00 - $160,300.00
