Responsibilities

  • Perform routine Mammography procedures, with the ability to produce quality images.
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) functions related to Mammography and Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA)
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of Mammographic, Radiographic and other related equipment as necessary
  • Accurately calculate and appropriate exposure factors and evaluate images for diagnostic quality
  • Obtain patient history, explain procedures and position patients accurately to ensure safety and comfort during the scan
  • Assist Radiologists and other healthcare practitioners with invasive procedures and practices as required

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Complete a 40-hour specialized mammography course and be eligible for the Mammography registry.
  • Advanced certification in Mammography is required within one year of hire.
  • Competency in components of Radiography and Mammography practice.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience in 3D Mammography
  • One year of direct Mammography experience
