Who We're Looking For

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is looking for a highly motivated DevOps Software Engineer, Lead.

The main responsibility of the lead software engineer is to build and implement scalable solutions across various TFS platforms and technology stacks. The SWE is tasked with working with product owners to understand business requirements, integrating architectural direction into designs and producing comprehensive functional/technical code for platforms and applications. Proficiency in Cloud platform configuration and customization, and API development is essential. Candidates with a solid background in tools that support developer experiences and platform engineering teams t will be highly regarded.

What you'll be doing

  • Evaluating new CI/CD tools, assessing their suitability for the organization's needs, and making recommendations for adoption.

  • Anticipate problems and recommend & deliver creative "big picture" solutions.

  • Designing and implementing scalable and resilient CI/CD infrastructure using IaC best practices.

  • Solve problems when there are no available precedents, guidelines, or policies by drawing upon experience, research, and other problem-solving alternatives.

  • Leading a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support in CI/CD tooling and practices.

  • Integrating containerization into CI/CD pipelines, including

    Docker image building, registry management, and container orchestration.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, aligning CI/CD efforts with organizational goals and priorities.

  • Guide team members on effective problem resolution by helping them identify alternatives and present

    recommendations.

  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, testers, product owners, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  • Participating in agile or Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to track progress and adapt to changing requirements.

  • Contributing to architectural discussions, design reviews, and technology evaluations to improve system scalability, reliability, and performance.

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design documents, architecture diagrams, API specifications, and user guides.

  • Documenting code functionality, usage instructions, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) Knowledge in Development tools, GitHub

  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS, including cluster setup, configuration, and management.

  • Software Development Exposure to one or more programming skills such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go for scripting and automation tasks within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience in seamlessly integrating containerization into CI/CD pipelines, including Docker image building, registry management, and container orchestration.

  • Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD, including secure configuration of CI/CD tools, integration of security scanning tools, and adherence to compliance requirements.

  • Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.

  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.

  • AWS Certification

  • Kubernetes/Docker Certifications

  • In-depth knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and experience building integrations
