About the role

We are looking for aSenior Advisor -OperationalReadinessbased in Salt Lake City, UT This role is essential to ensuring strong alignment between the process owner and the project team. The Principal Advisor will ensure preparatory activities required to safely deliver effective systems of work, competent people, and reliable assets are completed.

This role will enable the transition of facilities, plants and assets to the tailingsoperationalteam while achieving the approved business case objectives and specific project deliverables of the tailings expansion project. Reporting to the Manager of Operational Readiness Minerals, you will:

  • Support a culture of "Zero Harm."
  • Liaise with the project and functional departments to continuously improve communications and support high-performance team culture while remaining cognizant of both project andoperationalconstraints.
  • Ensureoperationalreadinessactivities are aligned to the guidance set forth in the Rio TintoOperationalEngagement andReadinessmanual.
  • Ensure the safe and successful execution of individual assignments andoperationalreadinessdeliverables.
  • Represent the respective functional departments to ensure decisions are in the best interest of their departments, including adherence to plant equipment standards and protocols.
  • Ensure the seamless transfer of mechanical and electrical infrastructure assets, documentation, and knowledge to the operation upon project completion.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years of related experience in commissioning, project management, oroperationalreadinesswork is preferred.
  • Broad understanding ofoperationaland asset management functions
  • Excellent all-around communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal)
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
  • Must operate independently with minimal guidance and little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize to ensure the final design is operable, reliable, maintainable, and safe to operate.

Where you will be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
