The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks an/a Associate Director of Recuperative Care to participate in the development, management, and supervision of all service areas provided or supported by the Stout Street Recuperative Care Center (SSRCC) program by the applicable policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors, program funders, and leadership staff. The Associate Director will work collaboratively with the Director to guide the implementation and sustainability of the program and its functions. The position works collaboratively within CCH along with public and private agencies to address housing, healthcare, coordination, and support service needs of people experiencing homelessness who have medical needs. This position is located at 2175 California St., Denver, CO 80204 and reports to the Director of Recuperative Care.

NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate's submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.

Essential Job Functions



  • In collaboration with the Director, oversees and directs operational efforts within the Recuperative Care program.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains staff within designated programs/teams.
  • Provides, at a minimum, bi-weekly individual supervisions and provides coaching, support and problem-solving assistance to staff as needed.
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service implements quality improvement activities including providing oversight, execution, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Implements quality improvement activities, providing oversight, implementation, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Recuperative Care helps prepare and monitor the annual department budget.
  • Demonstrates core competency in EHR (Electronic Health Record) and HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) and assures staff competency for this and other systems that may be used or relevant to program function.
  • Serves as an advocate and educator in a variety of public forums. Participates in the identification of unmet needs, program development and exploration of additional resources.
  • Completes assigned reports to funding sources or customers as required.
  • Assists in the development and oversight of program budgets, grant applications, and project deliverables.
  • Provides direct supervision to the Operations manager and Food Services Manager.
  • Oversees relationships and manages issues or needs with facilities, property management, and other operational programs.
  • Oversees patient traffic, flow, census, and day-to-day engagement within the program.
  • Works collaboratively to ensure that the facility operates optimally, and client services are not interrupted, including working with program team members who support daily operation tasks and building program and property managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary



  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted.
  • Extensive management/supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working within integrated teams and with multiple stakeholders required.
