Job Summary:

The Director of Enterprise Software Solutions is responsible for leading, supporting, implementing, and designing software and solutions for POOLCORP's major business units including but not limited to Freight, Sourcing, Warehouse Management, Credit, and Accounting. This role will also provide insight into the impacts of existing and emerging technologies that could enhance or replace these solutions, such as Cloud, Mobile, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. The role requires a blend of technical proficiency, management capabilities, and a deep understanding of business processes to ensure applications meet organizational goals and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and vision for developing and improving enterprise-grade business applications that support the company's strategic goals.

  • Helps drive the business application development process, ensuring that teams use industry best practices, maintain high-quality standards, and delivers within agreed timeframes.Works in tandem with our DevOps and Architecture Runway teams to create consistent solutions and design patterns that creates scale and reliability.

  • Fosters an environment that brings out the best from the feature teams terms of innovation, productivity, and collaboration.

  • Works closely with business stakeholders to align technology solutions with business strategies, identifying necessary system enhancements or new projects based on evolving needs.

  • Manages the ERP development team, providing guidance, career development opportunities, and performance evaluations.

  • Assists in preparing executive reports detailing progress, productivity, and future roadmaps for ERP system development.

  • Ensures applications are reliable, scalable, and secure, meeting the company's requirements for data integrity and cyber security.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities for system advancements.

  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory, compliance, and security standards within application development and deployment.

  • Collaborates with IT operations to establish a smooth transition from development to production, including ongoing support and maintenance structures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field; MBA can be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in software or application development, with significant experience in a leadership role overseeing development teams.

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of complex enterprise application projects on-time and within budget.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and lifecycle management.

  • Experience with a variety of programming languages, databases, and development tools relevant to the organization's technical environment.

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Practical experience with change management and business process optimization.

  • Knowledge of system architecture, IT infrastructure, and cloud computing.
