Under the direction of the department manager, the role of the Patient Support Services Supervisor position is to provide supervision of the East 6 Hospital Unit Service Coordinator III's (HUSC) and the Volunteer staff as well as the unit's time keeping, scheduling for HUSC and Nursing staff, meeting minutes, ordering supplies, stocking, scanning, environmental of care, general administrative support and duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of such education and experience in a hospital setting.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR or UCDH-issued CPR Certification within 3 months of employment and maintain current CPR Certification thereafter
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Skills to supervise an administrative and/or para-technical team and to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Supervisory skills related to recruitment, organizing, scheduling, and assigning work, training and evaluating work performance, implementing counseling, discipline, and corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care support activities, systems, external regulations. and internal policies.

Department Description

E6 Cardiothoracic Progressive Care Unit includes 24 beds with patient population consisting but not limited to; medical surgical, emergent, perioperative, Ventricular Assist Devices, Thoracic and Cardiac Surgeries, Stroke, Trached/Ventilated, and Medical patients, however not limited to other service lines.
