Container Repair/Fabrication Specialist

Kahut Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a Container Repair/Fabrication Specialist to join our team in Canby, OR.

Schedule is Monday-Friday

Shift is 12:00 PM-9:00 PM.

Hourly wage range is $25 - $26/hour DOE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welding, painting, and grinding responsibilities.
  • Welding/Cutting abilities to include MIG, TIG, Stick, Aluminum, Plastic, Brazing, Carbon Arc, Plasma Cutting, OXY Acetylene, MAP Gas and Propane.
  • Utilize needle scaler, grinder, drill, drill press, sanders, band saw, Sawzall, hand tools, hammers, sledge hammer, tape measure, shear, metal brake, angle finder, level and shop press.
  • Driving a forklift.
  • Available to help mechanics in maintenance shop as required.
  • General cleaning responsibilities.
  • Equipment safety checks: air compressors, welders, ladders, extension cords, miscellaneous hand tools.
  • Maintain and track inventory of container parts and supplies.
  • Assemble, repair, and replace decals on carts and containers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand needed repairs and/or tasks.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 1 year of work experience of welding/fabricating experience.
  • The ability to stand and work outside throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability and willing to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must pass drug screen and pre-employment background check.
  • Company provided uniforms and an annual boot allowance of $300!
