The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Driver is a specialized delivery driver whose role is focused on creating a high-quality customer experience for customers using our services. VMI is a process by which Codale manages inventory at a customer site. The VMI driver is responsible for counting and tracking bills of material, preparing and submitting orders, delivering and staging product to maximize efficient use of space and time for customers. Successful VMI drivers interact with customers, sales persons and warehouse staff to guarantee inventory remains at specified levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interacts with customers in a manner consistent with the high standards of professionalism Codale sets.
  • Drives safely and responsibly
  • Makes deliveries in a timely manner
  • Works with Sales to manage VMI contracting.
  • Defines list of products to be setup in the VMI program.
  • Determines inventory levels.
  • Determines new items for stock.
  • Determines the min/max or reorder point/reorder quantity levels for the customer.
  • Works with Customers to manage inventory
  • Communicates with Purchasing and Sales when consignment site inventory levels need to be changed.
  • Abides by all safety requirements at warehouse and customer locations.
  • Keeps records as goods or materials enter and leave the warehouse or customer location.
