Role Summary:
The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of duties with respect to the operations of the warehouse, receiving, storing, and shipping material and products by performing the following duties.
Key Accountabilities:


  • Receive materials, products, merchandise, parts in the warehouse.
  • Store items in bins, on floor or on shelves in designated locations for retrieval when needed.
  • Mark or tag items as necessary for identification purposes.
  • Count, weigh and identify items received and shipped.
  • Check materials against vendor's invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and other documents.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Fill orders or requisitions and maintain necessary records.
  • Take inventory as required.
  • Keep records of damaged or defective items, discrepancies in quantities and weights.
  • Use CMBIS to enter records and process sales orders.
  • Operate forklift to store, move or load material in trucks.
  • Make shipping crates as necessary.
  • Pack product in boxes, crates, cartons or other containers using various packaging materials to prevent damage or breakage.
  • Shrink wrap, close and seal containers, label and stencil as required.
  • Devise and construct non- standard containers for special products.
  • Other duties as assigned


Competencies:


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete forms as required by work center.
  • Mathematical skills necessary.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Qualifications:
High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience. Previous experience in material handling a plus.
Special Position Requirements:
The employee is subject to an environment that is at time congested with product boxes, material, etc. The employee is exposed to the hazard of mobile equipment moving in close areas. High noise levels are present in most areas the employee works.
Work Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk between pieces of machinery.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
  • Substantial movements of the arms, wrist, hands, and/or fingers are essential in the use of a variety of hand tools and instruments.
  • Some stooping and bending are required.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Must be able to operate the Tool Assembly Cell including a hydraulic press and pneumatic carton closer.
  • Must be able to operate Hook-a-roon Cell including a hydraulic press, band saw, belt grinder, glue gun and pneumatic carton closer.
  • Must be able to operate the Pike Pole Cell including a table saw, hydraulic press, and assembly machine.
  • Must be able to operate the Fall Protection Cell including drill presses, proof tester, riveting machines, and an electronic piece counter.
  • Must be able to operate the Clean Cell including a cordless drill, side cutters, hand held crimper, and pneumatic carton closer.
  • Must be able to operate the Liner Bolt Pack Out Station including a lift table, pneumatic nailer and carton closer.
  • Must be able to operate the Other Tool cell including a drill press, pneumatic wrench and carton closer, and banding machine.
  • Must be able to operate the Fence Stretcher Cell including a drill press, hand press, hand drill, pneumatic wrench and carton closer; radial arm drill, 1" pawl drill, 2 spindle drill, all paint operations, a variety of hand tools, etc.
