The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Engineeringteam. This position can be based in our Denver, CO office; Beaverton, OR office; or fully remote.

Candidate profile

Site Reliability Engineers are at the forefront of bridging software development with operations, focusing on creating automated solutions to ensure system stability and efficiency. Our SREs have a keen focus on enhancing observability to ensure transparent and proactive system monitoring.

What You'll Do



  • Lead comprehensive root cause analyses for complex software incidents, setting a high standard in problem-solving and resolution.
  • Architect and implement advanced alerting and monitoring solutions within our observability framework, ensuring high system visibility and responsiveness.
  • Champion and drive significant enhancements and strategic changes across the technology stack, improving both software and infrastructure reliability.
  • Take a leadership role in on-call rotations, demonstrating proactive incident management and mentoring team members in best practices.


The Skills and Experience You'll Bring



  • Expert understanding of SRE principles including Observability, Error Budgets, SLA/SLI/SLOs, and comprehensive Incident Management strategies.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with a track record of driving projects to completion and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex software issues and implementing system optimizations to ensure peak performance.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript programming, with the ability to develop high-quality, maintainable code.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS, leveraging its full potential to enhance system scalability and reliability.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, utilizing its capabilities to orchestrate containerized applications effectively.


Bonus Skills



  • Expertise in integrating and maximizing OpenTelemetry for nuanced observability insights.
  • Extensive experience in Node.js, capable of crafting scalable and efficient applications.
  • Experience in navigating and optimizing hybrid infrastructure environments, ensuring seamless operation across diverse platforms.


Working Environment: This role requires participation in an on-call rotation and may occasionally require working outside of standard business hours to respond to high-priority incidents or to perform system upgrades.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, theminimum salary for this role is 150,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
