The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) is seeking qualified candidates for a Credentialing Assistant. This position will provide medical credentialing and faculty appointment processing for the College of Medicine Affiliated and Volunteer Faculty Program.

Responsibilities:


  • Receive and process non-salaried faculty appointment applications. Create appointment application packets consisting of practitioner/medical credentials and board certifications for review by the department's administration. Track packets throughout the 4 stages of the appointment workflow.

  • Generate and send electronic appointment agreement letters, renewals, and appointment notices. Follow up with faculty (or designee) for pending items in a timely and efficient manner to finalize appointments. Activate UCF ID, NlD, and library resources for non-salaried faculty. Generate and electronically send approval letters. File physical folders.

  • Conduct primary source verification, collect, and validate documents to ensure accuracy of all credentialing elements; assess completeness of information and qualifications relative to credentialing standards. Identify, analyze, and resolve extraordinary information, discrepancies, time gaps, and other idiosyncrasies.

  • Update and maintain COM affiliated/volunteer faculty website directory and create distribution lists or email lists upon request from departments. Assist with updating the affiliation agreement listing in collaboration with COM Legal and the GME/HCA residency listing in collaboration with GME Office and update the database accordingly.

  • Responsible for answering calls, email inquiries, and general office support.

  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to timely completion of all required university and college training.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years or more of relevant experience

  • Outstanding customer service skills, and external and internal communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Excellent organizational skills, database skills (Workday), and Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively and efficiently.

  • Ability to adapt to change easily.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, problem-solver, and follows through.
