General Notes

This position is eligible for a hybrid Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) (on-campus and remote work). FWA arrangements are subject to manager approval and may shift due to changes in business needs.

Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

The Project Coordinator will coordinate, develop, direct, and evaluate assigned projects and plans in support of the Academic Affairs portfolio, with emphasis on time schedule control, coordination of project development and implementation, and communication with designated stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end operational aspects of Center for Teaching and Learn and cross-unit Academic Affairs projects of varying size, scope and scale; coordinates project plans including project life cycle, budgets, resource requirements, change management processes, risk management, key milestones, communication mechanisms, and deliverables; create and maintain quality project documentation and assets.

  • Work closely with designated stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress; prepare detailed reports on project progress with stakeholders to include project plans, barriers and solutions, milestones, financial costs/projections, and analyses. Ensure project deliverables are complete, properly formatted, and sent to key stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with portfolio colleagues, contribute to the establishment of sustainable, effective, and clear protocols for project management, including project templates and evaluation procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, University policies, rules, and regulations.

  • Develop, strengthen, and cultivate effective working relationships with project sponsors, portfolio colleagues, and teams to ensure cross-team communication, transparency, consistency, and successful achievement of project goals and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. At least two years of experience in project or program management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated success communicating effectively with different constituencies through a variety of channels. Demonstrated experience problem solving with speed and creativity while employing sound judgment and composure; professional, adaptable, dependable, and committed to excellence; team player. Demonstrated experience creating project documentation, including process mapping, schedules, budgets, and communication plans.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. More than two years of experience in project or program management. Experience with project management tools. Experience working in higher education. Relevant project management certification and training, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience working in matrix organizations within a portfolio and/or a Project Management Office (PMO).

Salary Range

$65,000 + depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
