Assistant Controller

Arconic is currently in search of an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team in Massena, NY.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide expertise and analysis to support plant controlling and plant leadership. The role includes gathering and analyzing information, with the objective of improving the level of control, reliability and accuracy of accounting, reporting and forecasting.

Compensation:



  • Base salary range: $85,000 - $115,000

Primary Responsibilities

The Assistant Controller requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. General duties for the Assistant Controller include but are not limited to:



  • Lead of month-end closing and reporting, including accounting entries especially concerning accruals, provisions, and inventory controls.
  • Analysis of financial and operational results of the plant, support on preparing business presentations and reviews.
  • Analysis of plant spending and monitoring spend, engaging department managers on achieving plan and forecast levels, as well as adapting the cost structure to demand levels.
  • Analysis of product costs, product margins and monitor standard costing.
  • Analysis of Cash Flow positions as Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasting, including weekly updates, and support location Controller on analysis and reports as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel
  • Good understanding of numbers and analytical skills
  • High personal initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Readiness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Finance role in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic (VBA) of MS-Excel
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience with financial analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems
