Job Description

The Architecture team in Visa's Technology Organizationis looking for an experienced Senior Director, Systems, Strategy and Transformation. This role is a combination of building architecture and being a hands-on leader. You will provide guidance to project teams to perform end to end design to deployment related activities, perform reviews, prevent and resolve technical issues. You will also, closely collaborate with stakeholders to design & implement solutions with strong security posture, deliver functionalities with optimized cost, and improve developer productivity

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of engineers & architects who adopt, integrate & engineer industry leading infrastructure technologies and management solutions in Visa. The candidate should have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure solutions for Critical applications with a proven record of converting architecture and strategy into actionable delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Define and advocate a set of standard technologies and architectural patterns for Compute, Storage, Virtualization & Orchestration technologies and hybrid cloud implementations,

  • Managing requests for new technologies & driving for standardization, establishing a secure hosting environment, and ensuring appropriate availability of services.

  • Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement cloud-based (private and public) solutions which includes reference architectures, estimates, costing and application deployment.

  • Act as a technical liaison between product, engineering teams, Cybersecurity and Operations.

  • Lead transformation of raw thoughts into clear technical requirements to formalize technical designs and infrastructure blueprints.

  • Work closely with cross-functional groups including internal stakeholders (Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, etc.), and external customers and vendors to formalize roadmaps & priorities.

  • Lead technical discussions and communicate regularly with senior leadership on technical issues, program status, and escalations

  • Lead by example, demonstrating accountability, mentoring junior team members, and by contributing to departmental procedures, best practices, and standards.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

*12+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

*15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

*5 years of experience in systems architecture, engineering or development including experience in cloud automation frameworks, Hybrid cloud infrastructure deployments and solutions for large enterprises.

*Well versed with Well Architected frameworks driving Operation excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance efficiency, Cost Optimization

*Understanding and experience with Virtualization and Containerization technologies and cloud-native Application Architecture

*Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams

*Proven record of defining technology roadmap, executing defined technology strategies and driving adoption across a large enterprise

*Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline architecture

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,400.00 to 238,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
