About Office of Information Technology (OIT) at Georgia Tech

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.

Job Summary

Responsible for leading, developing, and deploying integrated solutions aimed at modernizing, consolidating, and coordinating the independently designed applications within and across Georgia Tech's Enterprise Systems. Lead the design and strategy of complex components of business processes. Collaborate with business owners to analyze data requirements to design integration and recommend technical solutions (Application Programming Interfaces (API's), Extract, Transform and Load (ETL), etc.). Build, test, and deploy on premise and cloud integrations necessary to support the Enterprise applications. Assist in developing integration best practices and standards within Enterprise Applications and Data Integrations and other technical units internal and external to OIT.

This position will interact on a regular basis with: Unit and departmental management and staff; Institute-wide technical and functional business owners

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Determine how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, Web interfaces, and/or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise requirements.

Job Duty 2 -
Lead the design and support of integrations by building them in appropriate technology (API's or ETL), monitoring, testing, and proactively monitoring performance

Job Duty 3 -
Lead system testing and deployments to ensure integrations work as designed and are migrated appropriately

Job Duty 4 -
Review current technologies and ensure Georgia Tech's integration strategy and best practices match current technology

Job Duty 5 -
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Analytics or Statistics, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
University experience, application security methodologies, service oriented architecture

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
Seven or more years of job-related experience

Higher Education environment, Workday, PeopleSoft, Banner, cloud integration technologies, ETL tools such as DataStage, Java development, object-
oriented development, cloud application management, and enterprise system implementation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 Years of working experience developing and supporting data pipelines and ETL processes in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • 5 Years of experience writing SQL and working with databases.
  • 2 Years of working experience with one or more of the following: Python, JSON, C#, Java
  • 1 Year of experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience in using/designing a data warehouse and data warehouse design principles
  • Experience using other Azure Services
Proposed Salary

Salary Range - $88,760 - $105,000

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Job Grade: I6
