Sentara Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)!

Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance can be provided to qualified candidates.

Shift: Full Time Nights

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level1 trauma centers in Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and the region's first Magnet hospital and nationally ranked heart program at the Sentara Heart Hospital. The hospital sits on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which serves as the primary teaching institution. Sentara Norfolk General and the Heart Hospital offers Transplant Services: Heart, Kidney and Pancreas. We are a Certified Stroke Center and the only Level 3 Epilepsy Center in the area.

The Sentara Heart Hospitala 112-bed care facility is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart programs.

Department Overview:
10 Bed Unit on the 2nd floor of Sentara Heart Hospital
Patient population includes Cardiac patients (not surgical), pulmonary hypertension, heart attack, heart failure, sepsis, and this unit is the MRT for the Heart Hospital.

Education:

Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree RN.

All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.

RN Experience:
1 yearof IMCU or Stepdown, PCU, OR 2 years of Medical/Surgical

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
