The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Principal Cloud Security & Identity Architect to join our security team.

The Principal Cloud Security & Identity Architect plays an important part in the development, implementation, and migration from on-prem to our new Microservices environment across DAT. The Principal level role is responsible for architecting, identifying, and providing best security practices and solutions for how we build, scale, and grow our next generation platform.

What You'll Do



  • Designing and implementing cloud security strategies and policies that meet DAT organization's specific needs.
  • Ensuring the security of cloud-based data and applications against unauthorized access, theft, and other threats.
  • Conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and develop plans to address them.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals, including network engineers, developers, and system administrators, to integrate cloud security measures into existing systems and processes.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest cloud security technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Expert knowledge of the Kubernetes platform, with a track record of working with, designing software for, and securing a globally distributed k8s cluster infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Solid security architecture knowledge of key building blocks such as networking, data ingress / egress technologies, authentication / authorization design patterns, encryption standards for data in transit and in persistence, and data integrity controls.
  • Hands-on secure cloud development and deployment experience
  • Understanding of security compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS and SOC 2.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is 215,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
