Location: Wadesboro, NC
Position Overview: The mechanical engineer plans and designs product applications based on customer requirements and needs. The position is responsible for organizing complex components and assemblies for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineered products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for performing engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives.
  • Responsible for generating bills of materials for all product designs utilizing conventional types of plans and specifications.
  • Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications.
  • Creates/describes design procedures and specifications leading to construction documents.
  • Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management/commercial decisions.
  • Responsible for supporting the Operations Team by developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Transitions products from product development to production.
  • Support other functions (Quality, Sales, etc.) in order to satisfy customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:


  • Ability to create designs using relevant design software.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly productive environment where projects and direction can change quickly while creating thorough and detailed designs and documentation.
  • Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate in individual and group settings.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years design experience required.
  • AutoCAD and Solidworks experience required.
  • FEA and/or Solidworks simulation experience desired.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems or hoists desired.
