GENERAL

DESCRIPTION

This is a non-rotating, straight 8-hour shift position with a normal schedule of M-F, but some weekends may be required.

Safety

The operator follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).

Responsibilities

The superba technician is responsible for the following:

  1. Performing lot changes (Ref. FFORM4) (Ref. QWKINST 21 - 5.0).
  2. Flag fixing.
  3. Repairing mechanical breakdowns that require less than two hours of repair time.
  4. Maintaining assigned machines.
  5. Performing all quality checks in superba area.
  6. Performing equipment calibration as trained

(Ref. LWKINST 2 in the Quality Control Manual and FWKINST 7).

  1. Routinely serving as an assignment leader in the superba room (Ref. SPI 19 in the SPI manual).
  2. Replacing fallen packages from the monorail. (Ref. FWINST 5)
  3. Repairing minor breakdowns on robotics system.
  4. Completing the daily Downtime Tracking log (Ref SPIFORM19 in the SPI Manual).
  5. Complete Superba Technician Checklist (Fform40) daily.
  6. Complete Superba Water Usage Checklist (Fform 26) daily by shift.
  7. Complete Superba Waste Log (Ref. Fform46)
  8. Complete Plied Yarn Waste By Shift (Ref.Fform45)
  9. Ensure water is shut off on tunnels not scheduled to run.
  10. Relieve assignments for break.
  11. Run machine assignment as required.
  12. Other duties as needed by manager
  13. Come in early or stay over for startup/shutdown.

Authorized Shut Down

The technician is authorized to shut down a superba if it is unsafe or producing off-quality (Ref. SPI 1), such as yarn running back in the tunnel, wet yarn, stretched yarn, pulled fibers, or any other unusual occurrence for the superba process. Examples of visually detected off-quality defects can be found on the superba quality board.

EDUCATION

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience

KNOWLEDGE

REQUIREMENTS

Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools typically found in carpet/non-woven- yarn production or a related industry.
