Responsibilities
- Evaluate orders by checking for appropriateness, processes the orders to assure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform ongoing assessments by checking patient's responses to medications to evaluate drug therapy for appropriateness and effectiveness and recommends modification.
- Provide comprehensive drug information services to medical staff, other health care professionals and patients by understanding drug therapy management, to assure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate and direct pharmacy personnel by actively participating in staff meetings and attending staff development in pharmaceutical care to identify learning and performance needs.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by Texas State Board of Pharmacy and evidence of biennial renewal.
- Completion of the TSBP educational requirements in the field of compounding sterile preparations OR must be capable of completing requirements within 90 days of hire date.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Hospital and Departmental Policy & Procedures as normally acquired through a 1-month orientation program.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
