Job Summary

In this highly visible and dynamic role, the Financial Analyst, Corporate Development and Finance will support modeling efforts for the Vistra Zero pipeline to assess investment opportunities and support internal reporting and management presentations

Responsibilities include maintaining financial models and inputs for all solar and storage assets included in the Vistra Zero pipeline. This role will include cross collaboration with a variety of Vistra internal teams. The candidate will gain exposure to Vistra's business segments (TXU Energy, Luminant, Dynegy) and knowledge of the power industry while developing important analytical and communication skills. The candidate will be part of an elite team that interfaces and directly supports Vistra's senior leadership, external consultants, and other key stakeholders.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

In this position, the candidate will be required to:

* Refresh and review financial model inputs associated with the Vistra Zero pipeline on a monthly basis, which will require interfacing with many internal groups such as Tax, Planning, Treasury, Commercial, Regulatory, etc.
* Key financial model inputs include capital spend, project timeline, gross margin build-up, operations and maintenance expense, tax assumptions, and capital structure
* Evaluate portfolio or standalone project financing scenarios and impact to Vistra Zero's equity returns
* Perform scenario analyses around offtake opportunities, capital cost sensitivities, acquisition opportunities, optimizing site design, etc.
* Create and maintain internal / external reporting materials to track actual and expected performance metrics associated with the Vistra Zero pipeline
* Prepare materials / presentations to present Vistra Zero investment opportunities to leadership
* Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
* Ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, or financial reporting
* Strong understanding of power markets and renewable energy is preferable

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

* 3-5 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, or related fields
* Knowledge of the energy industry (power and gas) and renewables and energy storage development
* Highly motivated individual with achievements in professional, academic and extracurricular activities
* Energetic, intellectually curious, strong analytical reasoning and organizational skills, detail-oriented self-starter
* Strong writing skills and expertise at summarizing quantitative data and strategic considerations in charts and graphics in Microsoft PowerPoint
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and collaborative work approach from peer level up to executives
* Adapts well to change and meets commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Proficiency in corporate finance preferable
* Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone over 6 hours a day
* Occasional travel between company facilities; occasional overnight travel
