Production Supervisor/Operations Leader

All About Arconic: Arconic is currently in search of an Operations Leader to join our Global Rolled Products Operations business unit in Lancaster, PA. Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years.

At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we produce a variety of products--from painted aluminum sheet to blanked aluminum products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware, and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components. Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods.

The Operations Leader is accountable for providing leadership and direction to Production Teams and Operations Shift Coordinators in order to meet business requirements for the efficient production of metal in a continuous improvement environment. Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Operations Leader is responsible to ensure a safe and productive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in safely producing the highest quality product
  • Coaches employees for effectiveness, efficiency, performance, safety practices, and adherence to procedures; corrects behaviors and actions as needed
  • Ensure team performance goals are aligned to department and plant business objectives and communicated to the team
  • Act as backup for the Production Superintendent
  • Comply with all employment laws and Arconic Equal Opportunity Policies in all hiring, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions
  • Provides adequate direction for team; maintaining clearly stated work assignments and providing assistance when needed
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
  • Ensure that EHS incidents and quality issues are appropriately investigated and corrective actions implemented on a timely basis

Schedule: This position supports our 24/7 operations and primarily works 14 out of every 28 days on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of project management experience
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Material's Science, or Engineering
  • 10 years manufacturing experience
  • 5 years of leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing high performance teams;
  • Ability to translate corporate and plant business objectives into meaningful and achievable business goals for the department;
  • Experience with AS400 and Oracle;
  • Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results oriented;
  • Demonstrated ability to use a computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
