The role

Vice President, Fraud Prevention CoE (Center of Excellence) will drive strategic approach, governance, operational execution excellence, and act as the principal fraud risk management officer across SoFi Technologies, Inc. and operating subsidiaries. This strategic role will work closely with SoFi's Technology Platform Business Unit (Galileo), 1LOD Risk Management, and 1LOD Global Operations Leadership to accelerate foundational areas that drive strategic vertical integration, fraud risk mitigation, operational efficiency, experimental iteration, and Member/Client engagement. At the core, the leader will leverage data to drive continuous improvements to fraud prevention strategy, efficacy, experience, Member/Client offerings, cost, and responsible growth.

In addition, this leader will work closely with 2LOD Fraud Prevention leadership to ensure adherence to the firm's risk appetite, independent oversight, effective controls, and embedded governance.

Key dimensions of responsibility include leading our Fraud Prevention Center of Excellence, which have end-to-end responsibility for both risk management (strategies, tools, policies) and operational execution of our global Fraud Prevention program:

1LOD Fraud Prevention Risk Management - Leading, developing, and maturing an industry-best Fraud Prevention Risk Management organization across SoFi Technologies, Inc. The incumbent will architect comprehensive fraud risk management capabilities for a rapidly growing bank holding company - ensuring robust defensive and offensive capabilities - maturing foundational fraud risk tools, strategies, analytics, governance, and enterprise risk culture. The leader will play an essential role in fostering regulatory readiness, interacting with our regulatory agencies, establishing strong first line fraud prevention risk function and supporting effective challenge of the second line function.

1LOD Global Fraud Operations - Critical to the successful growth of SoFi Technologies, Inc. is driving synergy and scalability leveraging our data-driven risk management function to optimize our operational delivery channels. This leader will drive enterprise transformation of key Fraud Operations delivery functions. A primary focus is on identifying scalable delivery infrastructure, efficient workflow strategy, global resource footprint, and regulatory compliant processes delivered through an intuitive, digitally native, omni-channel interaction that yields a world-class Member experience. Essential to the transformation of Global Fraud Operations is the integration of SoFi Technologies, Inc. subsidiaries into an innovative multi-tenancy model which seamlessly powers SoFi-branded experiences and those of our clients across global delivery centers. Allowing SoFi Technologies to achieve economies of skill and scale with an emphasis on invest-once, resell-everywhere to provide global brands and small neobanks with a single-source for vertical integration across our technology platform, process, and delivery interaction.

This role will work closely with Global Operations units including Workforce Management, Member Service Delivery, Transformation + Strategy and 1LOD Functional Controls.

What you'll do:

  • Build the best of high performing teams - grow and extend Fraud Prevention leadership teams to win across data-driven insights, subject matter expertise, best-in-industry infrastructure, innovative maturity roadmaps, and strategic investment needs to drive defined outcomes.

  • Better together by harnessing an invest-once, offer-everywhere through vertical integration of SoFi Technologies Global Operations + Technology Platform Business Unit we will invest optimally to position our SoFi-brand and Galileo clients for success by thoughtfully managing business case, scope, dependencies, resources, and milestones.

  • Members First, Always! Relentless focus on improving the experience of our clients and Members to lead the industry - harnessing the power of self-service and deep-learning AI to proactively balance fraud prevention efforts with experience, friction, and cost. .

  • Service delivery, Redefined. Innovate with intuitive service - coupling Member interactions with proactive service recovery - using Member/client web/app interactions to inform Member Experience journey during passive authentication to IVR, offer self-service options. Even if a Member does not call us, understand the intent behind every app interaction that could improve useability, manage fraud risk, and self/automated service recovery.

  • Drive accountability throughout Fraud Prevention CoE by setting up operating cadence/rhythm that bridges strategy, execution, and performance management. Lead Enterprise Fraud Management Committee and support interactions with SoFi Bank, NA and SoFi Technologies Inc - Board Risk Committees.

  • Actively define OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) that define success for long-term and short-term strategy, priorities and goals with Business Unit Leaders.

  • Risk Assessment to drive regular capability gap identification using regular internal and external advisory to define and prioritize fraud prevention maturity roadmap. Oversee all New Product Forum - Fraud Prevention Risk Assessment of new products, services or features.

  • Engage with Compliance/Legal and Business Unit Leaders to identify critical growth dependencies, control failures, unsolved operational and regulatory gaps across Fraud Prevention CoE.

  • Automate, Automate, Automate. Identify highest cost/most repetitive/least scalable processes and focus on Kaizen/automation of processes to include process improvement, bot utilization, or infrastructure investment.

  • Controls for 2030. Build anomaly detection using artificial intelligence at scale to dramatically reduce control gaps and quickly identify process breaks across the platform. Expand beyond single defined processes and corresponding controls (RCSA), ingest data at scale with AI to identify when things look different in-real-time.

  • Build the future of SoFi and work closely with Corporate Development on diligence of potential assets of interest to accelerate our strategic mission

  • Future Ready. Build the future of Fraud Prevention fusing our industry-best culture with technical and operational assets to successfully scale with high compliance to regulatory requirements and continuous reduction of adverse Member experience.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years holistic Fraud Prevention leadership across Risk Management and Operational dimensions

  • Deep regulatory expertise (Reg CC, Reg E, disputes, complaints management) including remediation planning and readiness risk assessments

  • Demonstrated progressive experience at top 10 U.S. financial institution

  • Experience managing deposit products, lending products, and credit cards.

  • Operational leadership of 24/7 multi-site teams (domestically and globally).

  • Lead continuous process improvement and organization transformation.

  • Experience building multi-tenanted Fraud Prevention Tools and Services

  • Strongly Preferred: Extensive work in Fraud Investigation operations, knowledge in AML/BSA
