Location: Dahlgren, VA

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer, Senior to Independently analyze the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources and modern hardware solutions.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software.
  • Provide assistance to users in the development and integration of systems and environments.
  • Install and manage systems and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of systems and environments and efficiently diagnoses and resolves system problems.
  • Participate in Technical Review Teams, Integrated Product Teams, Technical Working Groups, Technical Interchange Meetings, and Interface Change Working Groups.
  • Develop and review architectures, component functional allocation and flows, interfaces, system processing and performance for Track Management systems.
  • Develop descriptions and data flows of proposed systems and perform requirement analysis.



Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:



  • Accredited Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from ABET in Systems Engineering Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics or related scientific discipline.
  • Ten (10)+ years of professional experience in systems, software, electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Three (3)+ years of Track Management systems experience.
  • Experience with Naval combat systems, e.g., AEGIS and SSDS, DDG1000, LCS including design, performance, analysis, military applications, or operational experience.
  • Experience in the development of Naval combat systems, including definition, functional allocation, design development, testing, integration, and operational deployment.
  • Working knowledge in the development of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products as well as other architectural representations of Track Management and link functions.
