Patient Attendant Safety Aide - Duke Raleigh Hospital - Progressive Care Unit Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shift, Rotating Department Profile The Progressive Care Unit is a step-down unit for ICU. The patient population on this unit includes patients with altered mental status, DKA, respiratory failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and some post-surgery patients. This is a fast-paced unit that encourages teamwork and growing skillsets. The ratio for NA is 1:8, however it could be as few as 6 or as many at 10, but the goal is 8. The patient population is adult patients with any medical diagnosis from head-to-toe. Higher acuity step-down patients as much as possible. Drips, lines, tubes - from walkie-talkies to bed bound and everything in-between. Job Summary Perform work under the supervision of a registered nurse, the patient attendant safety aide maintains constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s).
