Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220,000.00 - $289,940.00. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Application Window Open date: September 15, 2023 Most recent review date: Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Jun 30, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Headache Specialist The headache specialist faculty member will support the development of this comprehensive headache program and outpatient headache clinic in UCI Neurology. There will be clinical responsibilities in the Department of Neurology including patient care, academic activities, patient education, staff education, and research. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to the care of patients with headache and will participate in specialty and interdisciplinary clinics at the University campus in Irvine and other UCI Health sites. Candidates should be highly motivated and collaborative and will combine outstanding clinical care with an academic commitment to teaching and/or clinical research. An interest in developing a clinical trials program is preferred. Substantive inquiries about the positions should be directed to: Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service. Professional qualifications: * Eligibility to obtain an active and unrestricted medical practice license to practice in the State of California. * Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Neurology and hold medical staff privileges with the UCI Medical Center. * Rank and academic track will be commensurate with candidate experience and credentials. * Interest and experience in working in a collaborative comprehensive neurosciences center. * Active involvement with international, national, and/or regional professional societies preferred. * Interests in teaching and/or clinical research/clinical trials. M.D., or M.D./Ph.D., D.O. from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience, postgraduate clinical training, and eligibility for one of the medical specialty boards.
