POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician role supports the overall success of the plant through diagnoses and repair of the facilities machinery and infrastructure. As a member of the maintenance team daily activities include response to breakdowns, implementation of PM's on the facilities equipment and infrastructure systems, and grounds maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to breakdowns when requested by supervisor. Properly diagnoses and repairs machinery and infrastructure systems.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM'S) on plant machinery and infrastructure systems.
  • Keeps data entry on work orders accurate
  • Helps to complete maintenance specific checklists
  • Helps to ensure facilities Emergency Response Systems are in working order
  • Maintains a personal toolbox and maintains a clean work area
  • Upholds the highest regard to safe work practices
  • Takes pride in own work and shares best practices with others

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of power tools
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic system function
  • Basic knowledge of chains, sprockets, gears
  • Basic electrical knowledge (voltage, amperage, circuits)
  • Ability to effectively communicate utilizing a 2-way radio
  • Ability to maintain tools and toolboxes in an efficient manner
  • Ability to execute Lock Out Tag Out according to machine postings and energy sources
  • Ability to comply with all applicable company policies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience completing PJHA's or other risk assessment documents
  • Vocational Training of any kind
  • Machinery set up experience

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to safely function in a high paced environment

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME

TBD dependent on role

  • Various hand and portable power tools
  • Vices, clamps, rigging equipment
  • Bridgeport, welders

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Safety Eyewear (additional when executing certain tasks)
  • Steel Toe Safety Shoes
  • Hairnet or ballcap
  • Cut resistant gloves, chemical gloves, etc. as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

1. Standing: Ability to stand while working 95% of day

  1. Sitting: Ability to sit down 5% of day
  1. Moving: Ability to move throughout plant: 100% of day
  1. Lifting: Ability toliftto25lbs. 100% of day
  1. Ascending/Descending:Ability to walk upstairs,climb to top of range

  1. Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull fabric rolls,A-frames (approx.

1500lbs) 10% of day

  1. Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 25% of day
  1. Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,

including reading information from printed sources and

computer screens. 5% of day

9. Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand

information. 100% of day

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

  • 2nd Shift: M-F (2:45PM-11:15PM)
  • OT when scheduled
  • Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
