The Waygate Technologies site in Skaneateles, NY specializes in Remote Visual Inspection equipment, with our industrial borescope leading the world with our measurement capability. A typical application would use our borescopes to peer inside the combustion chamber of a jet engine to locate and measure a dent, crack, or other defect to within several thousandths of an inch! Everything is located right in NY, from R&D, manufacturing, software development, and repair leading to constant collaboration between teams.

Waygate Technologies seeks a Software Engineer to grow their team. This candidate will help our team develop and test advanced hand-held remote visual inspection (RVI). Depending on your skills, you will be assisting in various aspects of the team's work, including design and development of embedded software for control and visualization via a combination of digital signal processors (DSP's), x86/x64 multicore CPU's, and current generation graphics processing units (GPU's), with an emphasis on design for testability and validation automation.

In the role of Software Engineer, you will:

  • Working with the team to design, estimate, develop, document and test scalable software solutions that drive business value
  • Developing and implement new product features in an agile development process
  • Participating in code reviews and provide guidance on how to solve issues/concerns
  • Maintaining code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
  • Incorporating testability features into software to facilitate automated validation and regression testing.
  • Engaging in technical discussions, participate in technical design reviews, and present technical ideas through white boarding and presentations

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Great communication and written skills
  • Ability to successfully work on their own and within a team environment
