Job Description:
- The Financial Management Specialist will provide assistance to senior finance staff in support of the administration of sponsored grants and corporate partnership programs.
- Duties include but are not limited to; processing invoices for payment, resolving issues with purchase orders, coordinating with financial managers for approvals of expenditure transactions, and processing of requisitions.
- This team member will work with other departments including Sponsored Funds Financial Accounting and Procurement to resolves issues and coordinate timely processing of all transactions.
- This position will use Oracle financial software and related business interfaces, including Excel, to create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases to efficiently monitor and track expenditures, and assist with various financial reporting needs.
- This position requires familiarity with applicable policies, rules, and regulations to be able to appropriately respond to requests and provide information to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- ORACLE financial software and Microsoft Office tools will be used to prepare financial reports and to develop cost recovery models.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Financial Manager/Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
OR
- a relevant Associate's degree AND a minimum of 2 years professional experience.
- Candidates must have a working knowledge of the MS Office suite and excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.
