Job Summary: Billing and registration coordinator. Description of Job Responsibilities: 1. Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others. 2. Develops and maintains/updates policies and procedures for financial processes. 3. Maintains current knowledge of coding and reimbursement to ensure professional and hospital billing is accurate and compliant. 4. Monitors process to audit charge submission and validation for hospital and professional services. Monitors outcomes and reports to management monthly. 5. Responsible for the denial management process for professional and hospital billing. Creates action plans to manage denials and reports monthly on outcomes 6. Responsible for the monitoring and compliance of all billing and collection functions within the practice. Reports monthly to management. 7. Responds to patient inquiries concerning their billing accounts. 8. Serves as a resource for satellite offices Other Information Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent. Licensure/Certification Requirements: None required. Professional Experience Requirements: If Bachelor's degree, three (3) years of related experience and/or training. If Associate's degree, seven (7) years of related experience and/or training. If high school diploma or GED, eleven (11) years of related experience and/or training. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
