Job Overview

The Lead Application Support Analyst manages the interpretation of business rules and requirements for technical systems. Because assigned projects typically involve both software development and business re-engineering, they manage all aspects of support activities and customer service interactions with business users and general MSB user community, including regular process meetings, requirements definition and quality assurance.

They are the primary staff member responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, proactive detection, fault isolation, resolution, documentation and coordination of customer business processes; and for adapting application systems to the issues at hand. During the actual development, they interact with MSB constituents and team members regarding troubleshooting production issues, coordinating resolution, and monitoring production environment across a wide breadth of application technologies.

The Lead Application Support Analyst maintains their currency regarding emerging technologies and designs new systems for MSB organizations; assists departments in existing and establishing new business processes through support in Salesforce CRM and Google Sites; and provides knowledge regarding content sharing solutions (WordPress, Drupal, etc.) and implements such solutions.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the MSB Director of Applications Development, the Lead Application Support Analyst serves as a bridge between the business problems, the technology solutions, and application support; and leads more junior team members in application support and customer service interactions and all constituents of the Georgetown McDonough School of Business (MSB), including but not limited to MSB student, faculty and staff community - in coordinating these new business tools.

As the hub for discovery, development, and coordination for any assigned project, they have frequent interaction - both formally and informally - with external units - particularly UIS and application vendors.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS (Information Systems, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business Management or related).
  • At least 3 years of experience in enterprise application role/responsibility such as development, testing, systems analyst, etc.
  • At least 2 years of lead experience in coordinating and leading production support team or equivalent training/certification.
  • At least 2 to 3 years previous experience as a business systems analyst
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com platform and AppExchange applications
  • Experience working with Mass Email solution - such as Mass Mailer/Soapbox Mailer/Marketing Cloud/Marketo) Experience working with Events Management - such as Linvio events/Cvent/Blackthorn) solution
  • Experience with Data Collection solutions such as Form Assembly or Form Stack Experience working with Google Sites or any other web hosting platforms
  • Experience with application production support, quality assurance (QA) and testing, and training
  • Experience with data integration, data import/export tools (data loader, Demand Tools)
  • Experience with CRM applications and web content/content sharing management systems
  • Experience with 5 or more application tools and technologies - for example, Relational Databases, ETL, SQL, Case Management Tools, Testing Tools, Web Design Apps, Reporting Tools, Desktop Tools (Spreadsheet, Word, Presentation Tools)
  • Experience with gathering requirements, analyzing information, teamwork, promoting process improvement
  • Experience with business documentation
  • Experience with three or more methodologies - for example, Agile Scrum, ITIL, CMM)
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Release Management, Change Management, IT Service Management
  • Knowledge of graphical user interface design, email template creation
  • Experience in HTML, CSS with layout and design experience
  • Experience with Drupal Platform or WordPress


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Salesforce Associate or Certified Salesforce BA or Certified Salesforce Administrator
  • Knowledge of Online Application Processing admissions system TargetX
  • Knowledge of any Appointment/Interview scheduling solution - such as Sumo Scheduler, Calendly)
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Trello, or Jira to manage tasks/projects
  • Experience with Lucid Chart or Visio or other process mapping/designing tools
  • Application development experience
  • Knowledge of JavaScript (or any other UI language)
  • Programming knowledge
