In addition to the sign-on bonus, new teammates at Atrium Health are eligible for robust benefits packages, paid time off, and a career advancement ladder that rewards you for years of experience within your area of specialty. 11A Trauma Step-Down is a 24-bed unit that provides care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 11A is considered an Intermediate Level Medical-Surgical floor. With telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry capabilities, the unit can care for many types of patients, however, the unit's specialty is the trauma patient. Patients typically seen on 11A are those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chest & abdominal trauma (blunt force or penetrating), and orthopedic injuries resulting from trauma. Carolinas Medical Center is the region's only Level 1 trauma center and 11A trauma step down is proud to care for this unique patient population. Job Summary The Nurse Aide/Healthcare Technician assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competencies as appropriate to the needs of the patient population served. Essential Functions
Physical Requirements Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms.
