DESCRIPTION Under the Sleep Lab Supervisor oversight within Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Center, this position performs less complicated level technician duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through training. Responsibilities include: Program, download, and clean sleep lab testing equipment. Download PAP data. Chart prep. Obtain authorization for DME (durable medical equipment) and other medical supplies. Review the patient's history and verify order. Schedule and explain sleep testing procedure. Front office and back-office duties: checking in patient, collecting co-paying, scheduling, working in-basket message, rooming and taking vitals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or two (2) years of college courses in the natural sciences plus two (2) years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Previous clinic experience. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certification of completion of a medical assistant training program. Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Clinic/Center experience. Pay Transparency Act Full Salary Range: $57,357 - $71,284 Annually The University of California, San Diego is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as the Expected Pay Scale. Placement within the Expected Pay Scale is determined by internal equity, relevant qualifications, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
