Overview

Responsibilities

The Operations Accounting Analyst is a member of the team responsible for the investment accounting functions that support NISA's management of client assets. Various duties could include: reconciling positions and cash, resolving discrepancies with custodians and counterparties, investigating trade accounting and settlement exceptions, or managing collateral and margin instructions. He or she may also compile data for analysis, research, and client reporting.

    Verify, book, and communicate all trades to third parties on trade date
  • Settle trades, margin movements, payments, and cash/security transfers
  • Investigate and resolve trade failures, reconciliation breaks, and other discrepancies that are encountered with third parties or internal data sources
  • Monitor and process all types of corporate action events
  • Onboard new clients, including verification, for operations
  • Coordinate asset transfers with custodians and process them internally, management of asset transfers
  • Validate, instruct, and reconcile all collateral and margin movements
  • Collaborate with IT to test and implement new systems or upgrades to existing applications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills such as Accounting, Finance, or Economics from a four-year college or university, or relevant industry related experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of previous work experience in financial services, accounting or other relevant positions
  • Demonstrated interest in process improvement
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of staff
