The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to serve as an Account Analyst for the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention (BCHAP), Administrative and Finance Unit. Under the direction of the Director of Administration and Finance, the Account Analyst will provide accounting and financial expertise for state appropriations, federal grants, and other appropriation types in BCHAP, and will partner with program staff to ensure compliance and on-time financial reporting for a range of cross bureau and cross department projects completed in BCHAP. The incumbent will ensure accurate and timely completion of grant application materials and annual reports utilizing the Massachusetts Management Accounting and Reporting System (MMARS) and the information warehouse. The Bureau of Community Health & Prevention (BCHAP) acknowledges the history of structural racism and its impact on health. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in work simplification, management analysis, program analysis, methods analysis, economic analysis, fiscal analysis, financial analysis, budget analysis, program administration, or program management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, industrial engineering or industrial management may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, budget management, public administration, industrial engineering or industrial management may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required experience.*
III. A Bachelor's degree or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management, public administration, industrial engineering or industrial management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
NOTE: Educational substitutions will be permitted for a maximum of three years of the required experience.
