Tennis Channel's Senior Broadcast Operations Coordinator will play an integral role in facilitating the proper running of the Broadcast Operations Center. Working closely with the entire team of Broadcast Operations Coordinators and cooperating with Production, Digital, Promotions, Traffic (Ad Sales) and Graphics etc, the Senior Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the daily task of maintaining Tennis Channel's Day of air workflows.

The Senior Coordinator will oversee the daily broadcast of Tennis Channel's linear Network. They will pay special attention to Playlist Automation, Programming Guides, and Air Server Records. The Senior Coordinator will also oversee ingest/segmentation of files for server playback, monitoring of on-air signal including closed captioning, and liaising with our signal provider and affiliates to ensure confidence return.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Primary:



  • Monitor the on-air signal and ensuring quality delivery of our content to the viewers.
  • Schedule the on-air content as instructed by the programming/ production depts.
  • Accurately route and record content to the air server for playback.
  • Perform a thorough Sync and Fax check with onsite personnel prior to live shows and events.
  • Facilitate the correct insertion of commercial content during live broadcast and server playback.
  • Use a strong understanding of common broadcast signal problems in order to identify and rectify them (audio level, distortion, format, sync issues, video issues etc.)


Secondary:



  • Ingest content for air as needed.
  • Ensure closed captions are present on outbound feed.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, including escalation to Engineering as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of transmission SOPs as they pertain to master control needs.
  • Help with the training of new hires, in various stages of learning, as instructed by the BOC manager or supervisor.


Required Experience:



  • Minimum 3 years Broadcast Operations experience including but not limited to HD/SD, ASI, J2K, Data IP Transmission, Zoom/Skype, IP video workflows, Cellular bonded transmitter / receiver LIVEU, and the ability to troubleshoot such signal paths.
  • Must have strong understanding of SDI and digital signal flows.
  • Familiarity with the following equipment would be helpful: Wohler, Imagine Router panels, AVID FastServe, NEXIO, Haivision, Selenio Frame Sync, LiveU, RTS comms, various encoding /decoding.
  • Must be comfortable with the pressure associated with performing operations on a live network and be capable of remining focused when working under pressure.
  • Knowledge of tennis scoring, and rules is a bonus, but not required.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $28.00 to $33.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
