Lubbock Instructor - Chinese 31638BR CMLL Position Description Contributes to the university's mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit. About the Department and/or College The Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literature at Texas Tech University invites applications for a part-time Chinese language instructor position in Chinese language and area study, starting from Fall 2023. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for successive terms and likely convert to a full-time position, subject to availability of budget and demonstration of excellence in teaching and service. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester, contribute to curriculum development, design course materials and assessments, and promote Chinese language and culture on campus and in the community. Major/Essential Functions Teaches undergraduate courses in the employing department. Job assignment depends on the needs of the department. Organization Texas Tech University Required Qualifications Ability to teach effectively. Job assignment is part-time. This position is classified as Security Sensitive and requires a criminal background check if selected for employment.
