Lubbock Associate Professor (Open Rank) - CFAS 31544BR Comm Family Addict Sciences CFAS Position Description Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. Major/Essential Functions The Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies (ADRS) program in the Department of Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for an open rank tenure track faculty position. The position includes an Endowed Professorship in Eating Disorders. This tenure-track/tenured position is financially supported by a significant endowment of nearly $1 million and is open to all ranks and all research areas related to eating disorders (e.g., anorexia, bulimia nervosa, food addiction/binge eating disorder, obesity, OSFED, and feeding disorders, etc). Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. The preferred applicant will have a productive, visible, and well-funded research program that exemplifies an integrative approach to studying eating disorders or clear potential to develop one, experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students, and a proven track record of successfully mentoring doctoral students. The preferred applicant will also complement the existing research that ADRS faculty are currently conducting within the broadly defined areas of addiction and recovery. Applicants for all ranks including assistant, associate, and full professor are encouraged to apply. The review of applications will begin on January 31, 2023. Organization Texas Tech University Required Qualifications A dedicated research program on eating disorders (as defined above) and a doctorate in fields related to mental health (e.g., psychology, counseling, therapy), family and human development, and/or nutrition/dietetics is required. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.
