Position Summary
The Technical Assistance Business Advisor is responsible for providing business counseling and delivering training programs to individuals, businesses, communities, and other entities in their assigned geographic territory. The Business Advisor will have a base of business knowledge, analytical skills, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and will establish networking relationships. These duties include the integration of business theory and practice. Multi-county travel.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provide individual instruction to entrepreneurs, business owners, business managers, and others on understanding legal issues related to their enterprise, developing the accounting and record-keeping capabilities necessary for running their business, and helping them with the evaluation and pursuit of financing options best suited for growth - including completing applications for State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) related funding.

  • Develop and deliver business-training programs that are responsive to the needs of the business community served.
  • Generate curriculum for business programs, seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Help local field offices determine topics, agendas, instructors, and instructional materials.
  • Serve as an instructor or facilitator for these programs.
  • Evaluate programs' effectiveness and make necessary modifications.
