Senior Data Integration Developer

As a critical and senior member of the Integration Solutions (IS) team, the Senior Data Integration Developer works closely with MIS technology teams, business units, and management to ensure data integration services across all data stacks for the credit union are designed, implemented and functioning properly. The position will provide integration services by aiding lead and IS management to implement integration services. This position supports various technology and business teams on a Tier 2-3 level.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Assists and supports the creation and implementation of long and short-range data architecture plans including Data Warehouse and Data Reporting to align with overall enterprise strategy.
  2. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand and translate business use cases and/or requirements into functional specifications for data integration processes.
  3. Designs, develops, and deploys all the deliverables associated with each phase of the data integration process to specifications, while ensuring data quality through creation of audit controls, proactive monitoring and data cleansing techniques.
  4. Creates and maintains documentation of current state data processes covering information such as interfaces, data stores, transport technologies and the source and destination of data at both a functional and technical level. Creates documentation for the release of data integration processes to various environments.
  5. Validates data integration processes in development and test environment by developing and executing test plans.
  6. Provides support in each environment (development, test and production) to meet service-level requirements.
  7. Identifies and understands source data systems and becomes an expert of data sources and flows.
  8. Optimizes and tunes data integration processes for faster performance and to maintain data integrity.
  9. Assists in development and enhancement of standards and guidelines/procedures for data integration processes, performs reviews of design, code, and documentation to ensure all code from team adheres to standards as well as testing of functionality to ensure all deliverables are of excellent quality. Mentors team members.
  10. Explores and recommends technologies and techniques to improve data integration functions in alignment with departmental goals.

Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.

  1. 7+ years hands on experience designing, developing, testing and implementing complex software services/solutions.
  2. Ability to troubleshoot complex development/production/integration issues.
  3. 7+ years development experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and provide coaching to junior developers.
  5. Ability to work standard business hours and occasional after hours/weekends, as needed.
  6. Ability to function in a business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  7. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  8. Some travel required.

Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE you to have to make you more suited for this position.

  1. B.S. in Computer Sciences, Information Systems/Technology or related field.
  2. Advanced knowledge and 5+ years' experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
  3. Experience with development tool stacks (Visual Studio, SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, TOAD).
  4. Financial institution experience.
  5. Advanced understanding and experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle.
  6. Strong knowledge of systems and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to business.
