Primary Responsibilities:



  • Function as manager for a team of AWS cloud engineers
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture and design for software development in the public cloud (AWS), specifically in the big data space
  • Lead thorough code and architecture reviews
  • Empower engineering implementation teams by providing recommendations on best practice utilization of cloud assets
  • Contribute to all phases of cloud implementation including requirements analysis, data architecture, solution design, code development and implementation
  • Design and implement product features in collaboration with other technical teams, business and IT stakeholders
  • Design reusable technical frameworks, libraries, and components
  • Work with product managers to prioritize deliverables, build roadmaps, and manage sprints and releases
  • Coach and mentor engineers
  • Collaborate with all Analytics engineering teams with content in cloud (across US and India) to ensure that their needs are met with the most cost effective and simple solution
  • Act as the Technical Lead of cloud initiatives
  • Ability to provide hands on guidance for technical questions
  • Work with the business to ensure that their needs are met with the most cost effective and simple solution option
  • Responsible for resource manager role for AWS architects
  • Act as the functional manager for all team members
  • Provide leadership and direction for a global team
  • Manage and be accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies: AWS general (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM), AWS ops (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Inspector), AWS big data (EMR, Redshift, Glue, Athena), Terraform
  • Experience providing technical direction and vision to development teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple competing initiatives
  • Willingness and ability to work directly on projects 'hands on'


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in managing DevOps teams in an Agile Delivery/onshore-offshore model
  • AWS Professional Certification
  • Experience leading or working in a 'center of excellence' (or similar) team
  • Experience presenting at conferences / user groups / meet ups
  • Experience contributing to open source projects

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
